Stuyvesant Cove

Stuyvesant Cove is a small local park in the East Village right on the East River. Much care is taken in the landscaping and excellent gardening and there are many wildflowers and special trees. Shorebirds in Flight

Attended the annual Jamaica Bay Shore Bird Festival Sunday August 9, 2009. There were over a hundred people watching the various shore birds on their annual Jamaica Bay stopover during their migration to the South. The pictures here are mainly semipalmated sandpipers and some short-billed dowitchers in flight over the East Pond at Jamaica Bay.
