There were lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers at the Jamaica Bay Naitonal Wildlife Refuge this past weekend enjoying the assortment of berries especially on this cedar tree.

There were hundreds of Yellow-rumped Warblers flitting around at Jones Beach this past Sunday.

It is getting more difficult to get a picture of the fall migrating warblers as the season slows down. I was happy to be able to spend some time with a couple of Blackpoll Warblers in the maintenance yard in Central Park yesterday as they popped into view for moments at a time.

Warblers and other fall migrants are starting to stop off in the green places in New York City on their journey south. Central Park is one of my favorite places to view and photograph warblers during this season. Other than trees, the many fences in Central Park are popular perching places for these birds.

It is such a treat to have so many Yellow Warblers at the Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge singing away during this breeding season.

I was lucky to find a nice spot where there were many migrants bathing in in the New York Botanical Gardens near the Twin Lakes.

When my flash batteries ran out yesterday at the point in Central Park where most of the birds are in shade, I realized how essential the flash is in getting the picture most of the time. And how I should carry extra batteries with me all the time even though I have a battery pack.
