Common Yellowthroat Warbler Male


The picture of this Common Yellowthroat Male Warbler was taken in Central Park at the Point. I stayed around the point for a few hours this past week and was able to watch the ebb and flow of the various migrants. There were quite a few Common Yellowthroat Warbler about.

Yellow-rumped Warbler

There were lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers at the Jamaica Bay Naitonal Wildlife Refuge this past weekend enjoying the assortment of berries especially on this cedar tree.

Blackpoll Warbler

It is getting more difficult to get a picture of the fall migrating warblers as the season slows down. I was happy to be able to spend some time with a couple of Blackpoll Warblers in the maintenance yard in Central Park yesterday as they popped into view for moments at a time.

American Redstart female

Warblers and other fall migrants are starting to stop off in the green places in New York City on their journey south. Central Park is one of my favorite places to view and photograph warblers during this season. Other than trees, the many fences in Central Park are popular perching places for these birds.
