Snow Geese in flight

A Bald Eagle flew over the Jamaica Bay National Refuge and over a thousand Snow Geese simultaneously took flight.
I don’t know which was more exciting the sight or the sounds of all these Snow Geese in flight.

It is such a treat to be able to get a capture under “perfect” circumstances where the bird is close and still in good light. Then the picture takes itself. This does not happen that much for me. Of course it happens more often with birds that are more plentiful.

Not only was it special to see a Bald Eagle in flight over the Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge, in addition the sight and sound of the nearly thousand snow geese all taking off at once was truly amazing.

It might seem that this picture was a lucky accident. I took lots of pictures of the Snow Geese in flight. There were hundreds of Snow Geese at Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge this past Saturday.
