Hermit Thrush

The picture of this Hermit Thrush was taken at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, New York. This picture was taken with the CANON EOS7D with the CANON 100-400mm lens with a flash attachment.

I am pleased to be able to get captures in the more shaded parts of the woods using the flash with a minus 2 and -3 adjustment. Some birds are rarely seen in bright light. I was in the forest portion of the New York Botanical Gardens when I came across about 5 Hermit Thrushes moving about low to the ground.

Ruby-throated Hummingbird

I spent a wonderful afternoon at the New York Botanical Gardens this past Sunday where I was able to capture pictures of these beautiful Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are currently in fall migration and what could be a more wonderful stopover than the New York Botanical Gardens with their assortment of tastey flowers.

I used my CANON EOS7D with the CANON 100-400mm lens with a shutter speed between 2000 and 2500. I did not use a flash at all.
